10 Significant Movies in my Life
Today’s Top Ten are movies that are significant to me for some reason or another. This was a fun list to come up with – brought back some amusing memories.
1. Watcher in the Woods – I remember watching this at one of my slumber parties when I was, I don’t know, 11 or 12. Scared us all. I think my own kids would laugh at it now.
2. Cocktail – This is the last time I remember liking Tom Cruise.
3. Run Lola Run –The first foreign movie I talked my husband into watching. We loved it. And Lola’s pink hair.
4. Grandma’s Boy – Hands down, the funniest movie I’ve ever seen. The first time I watched it I was literally on the floor crying with laughter. Get yourself to Blockbuster and rent it now. Better yet, buy it.
5. Sleeping with the Enemy – The first R-rated movie I saw in a theatre. My cool older sister helped me and a friend sneak in.
6. X-Men – My husband and I watched this in a theatre in Madrid, Spain in 2000. All in Spanish, of course, which was fantastic when I can barely understand and speak English. Glad we did it, though.
7. Anne of Green Gables – My Mom and I watched naive Anne grow up. Good bonding times.
8. The Great Gatsby – We watched this for the college Literature class in which I met my husband. He’ll l never let me forget that he got an ‘A,’ and I got a ‘B.’ Boo. It’s only cause he flirted with the 65 year old teacher. She was cute though.
9. Rear Window – My cool older sister (see #5) liked Alfred Hitchcock, and I thought I was cool watching black and white movies too. Turns out this one is really good.
10. Jurassic Park – Our oldest when he was the only would watch this movie over and over again. Somehow, it didn’t scare him and the VHS tape sure beat Barney on PBS any day.
Now, come on and share an important movie in your life – I know you’ve got one or two or ten!

I LOVE Rear Window. One of Hitchcock’s best. For sure.
Hitchcock’s films are amazing. And I appreciate them so much more now that I’m older.
Love Rear Window. Pretty sure Watcher in the Wood scared me, too. I remember watching Poltergeist at a slumber party in 3rd grade. (What 3rd grade mom thought that was a good idea?!) Everyone else was asleep or out of the room. But I sat and watched the whole thing by myself! *shiver*
Oooooh Poltergeist! I have chills just thinking about it.
Is Exorcist the one where the little girl’s head turns and she crawls backward down the stairs? My husband will not watch that to this day because that scene traumatized him as a child!!
Loved the Anne of Green Gables series. Some of my favorites are “The American President,” “A League of Their Own,” and “Remember the Titans.”
I so have to watch these movies… I barely remember “A League of Their Own,” but know I watched it.
I forgot to add “Flowers in the Attic” to my list. Awesome movie and books!!!
