I too believe that the Quran does not command the covering of the head. Its funny how when I mention things like this I am told that I do not know my Islam. And then I am asked why I wear the hijab. Well, did not anyone ever say that my Islam is between me and my God? :-)

Yes, as a non-Muslim, you can absoleutly greet a Muslim with ‘Asalaamu Alaikum.’ In fact, I guarantee you’ll get a warm smile in return.
